Why does my highlift get hot, liquefy and bleed in my foils even without adding heat!

This is one of the most commonly asked questions. Here are some facts to keep in mid
1. We do not mix haircolor in a metal bowl but we put it in a metal foil hmmm. There is a reaction to the iron content that reacts strongly with Highlift tint.

2. Highlift tint is formulated for on the scalp applications by all manufacturers they have never been reformulated for foil use.

3. Aluminum foil is the sludge off of the bottom of the vat when you make steel. This creates inconsistencies in the iron content of you foil. An example of this is if you have ever experienced one box of foils that are thicker than the next.

4. Metal is a heat conductor in essence doing the same thing that developer does so when you confine 30-40 vol in a foil it really is working at 50-60 vol (then keep in mind most hairdressers apply heat too!)

5. Well water and city water have iron content in them that creates a mineral wall in the hair that is unseen to the eye. This is easily remedied with Imunal intensive cleanser under a warm dryer for 5 minutes. Follow with Imunal Repair Express Creme than foil damp hair. If your guest has well water make sure she is using Imunal Intensive Cleanser at a minimum of weekly along with a water filter on the shower head.

What is the solution then? Change the mixing ratio of your highlift tint to a 1:1 ratio. The foil will do part of the work for you creating a more refined beautiful blond with a good 4 levels of lift.
