Grey Coverage

Our guests will not pay top dollar for their hair color if their grey isn't covered, when that is why they are coloring their hair! And let's face it, why should they? To keep exceeding your guest expectations and keep them loyal, be aware of the following tips:
1. Accurately determine the percentage of grey.
The formulation you use today, may not be the formulation you use at their next visit! Check the percentage of grey at every visit and adjust your formulation according to the Kadus guidelines.
2. Add heat!

"I wear professional hair color because I am a professional."

"I wear professional hair color because I am a professional!" As this quarter's marketing theme, Kadus has introduced a landmark launch for our industry. Kadus is raising the bar in professional hair color by marketing professional hair color directly to your salon guest.

Professional hair color salons have been under attack by home hair color manufacturers for quite some time. With the 2010 campaign, we are supporting your professionalism by promoting professional hair color to your guest. Not only because your guest is worth it, but because they themselves are professionals!

Deep Purple

So many salon guests are asking for just a hint of "deep purple". Fun approach for purple introduction is to utilize Kadus Selecta 4/66 (30 ml) + 0/66 (5 ml) + developer of choice (30 ml of 10 volume suggested) in focal points. Consider 3 elongated triangles- one in the fringe, behind one ear and in front of the other ear. Everywhere else, use Kadus Selecta 4/77 or 6/77 in foils or as the base. This tri-splash of purple is fresh and extremely appealing.

Fervidol Brilliant-Rule Breaker

OK so how much do we love Fervidol Brilliant! Here is a trick I love to use. Try mixing Fervidol Brilliant in equal Proportions with 20 volume and apply to DAMP hair and allow to process 20-30 minutes.

Why does this work? Because you have a heavier dye load giving you more coverage and making the color more durable without being inky looking and still exceptionally shiny!

Lifting color with color

OMG I have figured it out! You are going to love this. How many times has a client that you have coloreded level 2-5 walked in, sat down and said, "I want bright red highlightes without bleaching!" UGGGH! OK, so here is a tried and true formula:

1 part hi lift tint of your choice (i like 11/43 for warmth or 11/6 for cool results)
+
1 part MIcrored of your choice (this is your target color)
+
1 part 40 volume
process 30-45 min.

Creating Strawberry Blonde

The elusive strawberry blonde. What does that mean? I always like to ask my guest if she means more orange on its way to being gold or gold on its way to being orange. Here are two great formulas that seem to be working well for me. I alternate them in a level 6-8 in a foiled or paneled manner.

Selecta Premium 8/7 (3/4) + Selecta Premium 8/43 (1/4) + appropriate developer

Alternate with Selecta Premium 8/43 (3/4) + Selecta Premium 11/43 (1/4) + appropriate developer

Beautiful strawberry blonde!

Gorgeous Haircolor, Simone

Hi Everyone. I recently saw a client that I would like to share with you. Simone has level 5 virgin hair, strong texture, elbow length. She asked for a "reddish tone" and we chose 6/75 Selecta for entire head.
I mixed two bowls, Bowl A = 6/75 with 10 volume, Bowl B = 6/75 with 30 volume. I knew that the new growth area would not need the stronger developer due to keratinization process of lengths and ends.
I applied Bowl A to her scalp area, in 1/4" partings. Some of these sections I applied it 1" down hairshaft, and some of the sections I applied to about 3" down hairshaft.

Time-saving color refreshing for busy salons

One of the things I love about Kadus Selecta hair color is the durability. Often when my clients come in to have their color retouched, the ends have little or no fading. And I want to keep it that way! My tool of choice for maintaining and refreshing those previously colored ends is Fervidol Color & Care masque.

Discontinued Colors

So as most of you know i hit the streets and visit salons almost weekly so I hear about it when something is discontinued. Most of you are aware that 9/3 Fervidol Brilliant has been discontinued as well as 0/33 Fervidol Brilliant. I used 9/3 a lot to warm up over blonded ends in a foil where I was switching from Bleach to highlift tint. Here is a replacement formula that works great for this:

3 parts 9/36 Fervidol Brilliant + 1 part 9/43 Fervidol Brilliant. This makes for an excellent replacement.

Haircolor Waste

I was in a salon the recently where the salon owner was near tears over the waste that her stylists were creating with haircolor. So here are some thoughts on ways to minimize the color waste in your salon.

1. Invest in scales- Your favorite Kadus Distributor should have one or go to Bed Bath & Beyond and for under $30 you can find a digital scale.
